The Matrix, Take One

"For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it…Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life."

Have you ever seen the movie, “The Matrix”?  It was made in 1999 and was about a very important issue…what is reality?  Or stated another way, what is true and what is false?  Or stated yet another way, what is merely perception versus what is actual.

The premise of the movie was that human beings had been taken over and subjugated by an artificial intelligence (AI) which had evolved into machines which the AI controlled.  In the struggle between the humans and the AI which human’s had created, the human’s thought that a way to defeat the out of control AI would be to cut off all energy to the AI by creating a cloud cover over the earth and blocking the solar energy from the sun.  While this did cut off solar energy to the earth, it had the unfortunate consequence of providing the AI with a need for energy to survive.  Instead of killing or destroying the AI, the human’s had provided the AI with a need for energy which is sated by turning the human’s into biochemical batteries!  In this way, the AI both defeated its enemy as well as used its enemy as an energy source.

Human’s were farmed – cloned- and from infancy, hooked up to the AI power grid and kept ‘happy’ and developing through a false reality called the Matrix.  This false reality was something less than awake consciousness yet something more than dreaming.  The premise was that the ‘human batteries’ would not survive and thus provide the needed energy to the AI entities unless they were provided a purpose to their lives, thus the Matrix…an artificial reality that had the human host believing they were living a life in the world that had some purpose.  The human’s were kept in a semi-conscious status in an incubator type pod where their brain (human’s ‘ hardware’) was hooked up to the matrix and were ‘fed’ a virtual reality program (the software loaded into the human brain and thus providing the mind with the virtual reality) that honored the free will choices of the people in the matrix stasis.

The concept in the Matrix story is remarkable in that it is quite close to reality and has many parallels with actual human existence.

Perhaps the most important truth in the story is that people are deluded between a made up virtual reality and actual reality.  In the case of the Matrix story, it is a machine intelligence that has subjugated humans and control their minds via the people’s brains i.e. by a physical means.  Also in the Matrix story’s case, the virtual reality of the Matrix was close to 100 percent effective, meaning the person was 100 percent deluded by the Matrix.  Stated another way, the delusion of the Matrix was complete, covering all aspects of human existence and experience.

In reality’s case, people are deluded between a virtual reality – the belief that human existence is merely a physical experience, or the many false spiritual beliefs that people create – and actual reality, which is human existence is not merely physical and there is only ONE true spiritual reality.  Just as there is but one UNIverse, so there is only one reality with different aspects.

In reality’s case, and in contrast to the Matrix story, it is people themselves who create false things about reality and believe those false things in order to avoid the actual reality and to not comply with the Designer’s good wishes for mankind.  There is another being in that formula, a spiritual being (not a physical subjugating artificial intelligence) who seeds, promotes and facilitates certain false beliefs among mankind.

As usual, however, the world (those who created the Matrix movie/story) have an important fact upside down.  The Matrix has the aliens as the bad guys and the human’s as the good guys.  In reality, the humans are the bad guys and the Creator is the good guy.

However, the parallel is still amazing and accurate!  Billions of people are deluded into believing false things about reality – whether materialists or religious or spiritual.  While people are not physically captive by some physical entity like in the Matrix story, they are none-the-less ‘captured’ (or deluded) about important life issues just like those who exist in the Matrix…those who have not escaped.

The turning point in the Matrix story is also amazingly parallel to reality.  In the Matrix story, the person questioning things about the Matrix existence (Neo) encounters a person who has escaped the Matrix (Morpheus).  Morpheus invites Neo to a meeting to show Neo the truth about his existence.  However, before Neo can see the facts about the Matrix, he must make a choice.  In other words, if he does not commit to (put his faith in) the choice, he will not be able to see the facts.  Here is the transcript from the movie…the context is Neo’s first meeting with Morpheus:

Movie Setting: In the Lafayette Hotel

Trinity: This is it. Let me give you one piece of advice. Be honest. He knows more than you can imagine.

Morpheus: At last. Welcome, Neo. As you no doubt have guessed, I am Morpheus.

Neo: It's an honor to meet you.

Morpheus: No, the honor is mine. Please, come. Sit. I imagine that right now you're feeling a bit like Alice, tumbling down the rabbit hole, hm?

Neo: You could say that.

Morpheus: I can see it in your eyes. You have the look of a man who accepts what he sees because he is expecting to wake up. Ironically, this is not far from the truth. Do you believe in fate, Neo?

Neo: No.

Morpheus: Why not?

Neo: Because I don't like the idea that I'm not in control of my life.

Morpheus: I know exactly what you mean. Let me tell you why you're here. You're here because you know something. What you know you can't explain. But you feel it. You've felt it your entire life. That there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is but it's there, like a splinter in your mind driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you to me. Do you know what I'm talking about?

Neo: The Matrix?

Morpheus: Do you want to know what it is? The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us, even now in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work, when you go to church, when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

Neo: What truth?

Morpheus: That you are a slave, Neo. Like everyone else you were born into bondage, born into a prison that you cannot smell or taste or touch. A prison for your mind. Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself. This is your last chance. After this there is no turning back. You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. Remember, all I'm offering is the truth, nothing more.

Neo: [takes the red pill]

End of Movie Transcipt.

This key to the whole Matrix movie concept is almost a perfect parallel to reality.  Let’s walk through the parallel.  I will change the characters in the story to demonstrate the parallel.  Instead of Neo, Theo will be a person who sees that things are fundamentally wrong with human existence or ‘the world’.  Instead of Trinity, Singlety will advise Theo to listen to Johntheus.  Instead of Morpheus, Johntheus will be the person who has come out of the Matrix and knows reality.

Here is reality’s version:

Singlety: This is it. Let me give you one piece of advice. Be honest. He knows more than you can imagine.

Johntheus: At last. Welcome, Theo. As you no doubt have guessed, I am Johntheus.

Theo: It's an honor to meet you.

Johntheus: No, the honor is mine. Please, come. Sit. I imagine that right now you're feeling a bit like Alice, tumbling down the rabbit hole, hm?

Theo: You could say that.

Johntheus: I can see it in your eyes. You have the look of a man who accepts what he sees because he is expecting to wake up. Ironically, this is not far from the truth. Do you believe the Creator, Theo, and the metaphysical/spiritual dimension He exists in?

Theo: No.

Johntheus: Why not?

Theo: Because I don't like the idea that I’ll be accountable for how I live my life...I want to live my life the way I want.

Johntheus: I know exactly what you mean. Let me tell you why you're here. You're here because you know something. What you know you can't explain. But you sense it. You've felt it your entire life…that there's something wrong with the world and with you. You don't know what it is but it’s there, like a splinter in your conscience and mind driving you mad. It is this deep level concern that has brought you to me. Do you know what I'm talking about?

Theo: The world?

Johntheus: Do you want to know what ‘the world’ is? The world is everywhere. It is all around us, even now in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work, when you go to church, when you pay your taxes. It is the lesser-reality that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

Theo: What truth?

Johntheus: That you are a slave, Theo, and that there is a better, greater-reality that you currently are not experiencing. Like everyone else you entered into bondage, into a prison that you cannot smell or taste or touch. A prison for your heart, soul and mind…a self-made prison you constructed when you became an adult. Unfortunately, no one can be told that there is an alternative to that prison…that there is a way out. You have to journey there yourself. This is your last chance. After this there is no turning back.

You take the blue pill (believe the falsehoods and lies), the story ends, you wake up in your bed and continue to believe what you believed before we met…you stay in the world.

You take the red pill (trust the First One and make him your Master), you enter into Kindgom-land, and we show you how deep the world goes as well as the beauty of the new King and his Father. Remember, all I'm offering is the truth straight from the First One who escaped and made a way, nothing more.

Theo: [takes the red pill]

End of Real Narrative

So, dear reader, can you see?  Sadly, most religious people will continue on in the delusion that they have taken the red pill…they have been told by their religious leaders that they have ‘accepted christ’.  In reality and for the vast majority, the ‘accepting christ’ concept is false and is merely a placebo…a fake red pill that does not release them from their self-made prison.  The ‘christ’ of Christianity is a foolish false thing…a placebo.  All the placebo does is open a door from their self-made prison cell directly into another prison cell made by other religious people.  So, the people believe they are getting out of their prison cell, but they are merely going from the frying pan into the fire…they have escaped nothing due to their choice to stay in the world...they have made a 'christ' to serve their life in the world.

In like manner, those who believe that their existence, abilities and experiences can be accounted for with merely atoms, molecules, proteins, cells, etc. – merely a physical reality – are just as deluded as the religious people.   The only difference is that they have not taken the placebo because they never met with Johntheus to begin with since they never saw anything fundamentally wrong with the world nor with themselves...they believed all the 'scientific' lies and falsehoods as well as the psychological lies and falsehoods that we are 'basically good' beings...

The simple truth is that there are two parallel dimensions of existence.  There is what people call ‘the world’ and there is what the Light calls his Kingdom.  The vast majority of people remain in the world and reject the King and his Kingdom…they cannot see that their choice leads to their self-destruction and a relatively love-less existence.  Most are content with their life in the world and are not willing to truly commit to the One who can open their eyes to these realities.  The Light plainly says…

"For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it…Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life."

So, dear reader, what are you going to do with this information?  Are you going to listen to the First One, the Truth, and escape the Matrix/world and being a new life?  Or are you going to remain in your current existence in the world, deluded by the placebo that is religion and ignoring the truth all around you?

Please, leave the real Matrix and instead enter into his Life and come, join the Peaceful Revolution!
